garlic

 

you don't need to use all that garlic          
we never need as much     as we think            
                                        my hands are shaking will you please

do the chopping

 

the knives came plastic-

wrapped               the smallest 

in my purse          medium    

splits lemons        biggest shaves corn

from the cob         

                            all i know about money is 

     i'll always buy the cheapest knives 

     we will always have fresh fruit        there is never

     enough

                      

if you don't use the garlic tonight

it will rot in the bowl and ruin 

the onions              and i

will blame myself for weeks
